Guidance on test analysis
Test Request Procedure

A business may measure water pollutants discharged by itself according to Article 46 of the Water Environment Conservation Act or have a measurement agency measure them according to Article 16 of the “Environmental Testing and Inspection Act” in order to properly operate the discharge facilities and prevention facilities it operates.

Analysis Items
- Water temperature, Dissolved Oxygen, Hydrogen ion concentration, Biological oxygen demand, Chemical oxygen demand, Total organic carbon, Suspended solids, Total Nitrogen, Total Phosphorus, Total coliforms, Fecal Coliforms, Hexavalent chromium and chromaticity

Business Site Classification

Business sites are classified as Class 1 through Class 5 according to the amount of wastewater discharged per day (Appendix 13 of the Enforcement Decree of the Water Environment Conservation Act).

Class 1 Business Site
A site with a daily wastewater discharge of 2,000㎡ or more
Class 2 Business Site
A site with a daily wastewater discharge of 700㎡ or more and less than 2,000㎡.
Class 3 Business Site
A site with a daily wastewater discharge of 200㎡ or more and less than 700㎡.
Class 4 Business Site
A site with a daily wastewater discharge of 50㎡ or more and less than 200㎡.
Class 5 Business Site
Discharge facilities that do not fall under the above Classes 1 through 4.
